Waveguide-Type Head-Mounted Display System for AR Application
Currently, a lot of institutes and industries are working on the development of the virtual reality and augmented reality techniques, and these techniques have been recognized as the determination for the direction of the three-dimensional display development in the near future. In this chapter, we mainly discussed the design and application of several wearable head-mounted display (HMD) systems with the waveguide structure using the in- and out-couplers which are fabricated by the diffractive optical elements or holographic volume gratings. Although the structure is simple, the waveguide-type HMDs are very efficient, especially in the practical applications, especially in the augmented reality applications, which make the device light-weighted. In addition, we reviewed the existing major head-mounted display and augmented reality systems
Super-Resolution Enhancement Method Based on Generative Adversarial Network for Integral Imaging Microscopy
The integral imaging microscopy system provides a three-dimensional visualization of a microscopic object. However, it has a low-resolution problem due to the fundamental limitation of the F-number (the aperture stops) by using micro lens array (MLA) and a poor illumination environment. In this paper, a generative adversarial network (GAN)-based super-resolution algorithm is proposed to enhance the resolution where the directional view image is directly fed as input. In a GAN network, the generator regresses the high-resolution output from the low-resolution input image, whereas the discriminator distinguishes between the original and generated image. In the generator part, we use consecutive residual blocks with the content loss to retrieve the photo-realistic original image. It can restore the edges and enhance the resolution by ×2, ×4, and even ×8 times without seriously hampering the image quality. The model is tested with a variety of low-resolution microscopic sample images and successfully generates high-resolution directional view images with better illumination. The quantitative analysis shows that the proposed model performs better for microscopic images than the existing algorithms

Blending of political and media power: The case of Radek John and his programme Bez cenzury
This thesis considers the role of former politician and journalist Radek John in an investigative programme Bez cenzury on TV Barrandov. Even though John was a politician and leader of Czech political party Věci veřejné, he decided to return to journalism. He did so with no intention of resigning his chair in the Chamber of Deputies, part of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. With this in mind, this could be considered as a specific representation of political parallelism. This study describes specific cases where Radek John might have acted contrary to normative journalistic values and journalism ethics. Furthermore, the thesis analyses the possibility that Radek John's own political interests and opinions affected the television programme itself. The research is conducted using the method of a case study which combines qualitative and quantitative content analysis, qualitative interviews and other research methods. Consequently, the analysis found signs of biased reporting in the programme's introduction and some stories, which reflected Radek John's antipathy towards traditional political parties and their leaders. However, the research did not reveal any direct support of Věci veřejné or their representatives. Furthermore, the thesis also presents media, academic and political responses to..
